Ballet is basic technique and the core of dance. Due to its structure, dancers learn control of their center, proper alignment, flexibility, grace and discipline. Ballet is great exercise for students of all ages. Here are some of the skills students learn in ballet (and the academic benefit in parenthesis):
Kerry's Dance Stages offers a mix of Checcetti (Italian) and Russian Ballet Methods. The movement and vocabulary are tested on students starting verbally at age 4, and written at age 9. We believe that Ballet is the root of all other dance and offer comprehensive study.
What does a Mix of Checcetti and Russian mean?
There are several different methods of ballet technique that represent the historical development of ballet. These methods are two of the oldest in ballet study.
